Tata Coffee reappoints Hameed Huq as MD

Tata Coffee on Monday said it has reappointed Hameed Huq as managing director for next one year. In a filing to the BSE, the company said its board, in meeting on December 14, reappointed Hameed Huq as the managing director for a period of one year starting January 3, 2013. Tata Coffee, a subsidiary of Tata Global Beverages, is one of the Asia's largest coffee plantation company. It produces around 10,000 tonnes of coffee from its 19 estates in South India and its 2 instant coffee manufacturing facilities have a combined installed capacity of 6,000 tonne.

JSW, JFE ink agreement to produce electrical steel

Sajjan Jindal-promoted JSW Steel said on Monday it has signed a joint venture agreement with Japan's JFE Steel Corporation for producing non-oriented electrical steel sheets or CRNGO. As part of the agreement, JFE will provide technology for the production. The Japanese company already holds a 15% stake in JSW Steel.

Amul to set up R140-crore dairy unit in Thane

Milk giant Amul will soon set up a dairy unit in Thane district of Maharashtra. The first unit will come up in the Vasai area, Amul general manager K Ratnam said. The Rs 140 crore plant will collect around 10 lakh litres of milk daily, Ratnam said addressing a function organised by the Institute for Psychological Health (IPH) here. Amul had sometime back set up a small unit at Rajgurunagar in Pune district of Maharashtra, but now they will be setting up a larger unit
