Harley-Davidson’s Fat Bob enters India
As the leisure motorcycle culture in India becomes stronger, the enthusiasts have another reason to rejoice. The Fat Bob, among Harley-Davidson’s most celebrated bikes, was launched in India on Wednesday. Assembled at the company’s Bawal facility, Haryana, this new addition from the Dyna family expands Harley-Davidson India’s portfolio of CKD models to six. Priced at R12.8 lakh, the Fat Bob will be available at all nine Harley-Davidson dealerships across the country. Speaking at the launch, Anoop Prakash, MD, Harley-Davidson India, said, “The launch of the Fat Bob will allow more customers to experience our Dyna range at an attractive price point.” The Fat Bob will be available with an air-cooled, twin-cam 1,685cc engine delivering 126Nm@3500rpm of peak torque, mated to a six-speed cruise drive transmission.
Vasudeva is Aurobindo Pharma’s new CEO
Aurobindo Pharma has appointed Arvind Vasudeva as chief executive officer (Formulations) with immediate effect. Prior to joining Aurobindo, Arvind Vasudeva served as Chief Operating Officer at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and was instrumental in the growth of the company. He also served as managing director of RPG Life Sciences, where he is credited in transforming the company into profitable operations. Prior to RPG Life Sciences, he served as President - Indian operations as well as Japan and ROW markets in Wockhardt.
NTPC’S 1,600-MW Orissa project to start by Jan
NTPC chairman-cum-managing director, Arup Roy Choudhury, said on Thursday that the work for the 1,600 MW ( 2X800 MW) coal-fired power project in Orissa would commence by January next year. “The state government has assured us today to hand over the entire required land by December this year and, in that case, would be able to start work on the project by the new year”, Choudhury said after a meeting with chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday. The first unit of the project would to synchronised in 4 years time”, he added. NTPC CMD, along with Bhel chairman KV Rao, met the CM in the presence of state chief secretary BK Patnaik, energy secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena and principal secretary (finance) Jugal Kishore Mohapatra. He discussed about the problem being faced by
