GSK Consumer Q3 net up 14.29%
New Delhi: Backed by higher sales and cost management GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Consumer Healthcare Ltd on Wednesday reported 14.29 per cent increase in standalone net profit at Rs 146.93 crore for the third quarter ended September 30. The company had reported net profit of Rs 128.55 crore in the same quarter a year ago. GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare’s net sales went up by 17.44 per cent to Rs 971.94 crore in the September 2013 quarter under review as against Rs 827.54 crore in the corresponding period last year, the company said in a BSE filing.
BHEL posts R456 cr net profit
New delhi: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd on Wednesday reported net profit of Rs 455.95 crore for the three months ended September 30, as against Rs 1,274.45 crore registered in the year-ago period. The figures are however not comparable since the July-September quarter of 2013-14 fiscal includes financial results of Heavy Plates and Vessels Plant (HPVP) — erstwhile Bharat Heavy Plate and Vessels Ltd (BHPV) — which has been merged with the company. The power equipment maker, which is grappling with tough market conditions, had net profit of Rs 1,274.45 crore in the same period of last fiscal, 2012-13. BHEL’s total income declined to Rs 9,482.25 crore in the second quarter of the current fiscal, from Rs 10,692.22 crore recorded in the same period a year ago. Financial results for the three months as well as for six months ended on September 30, 2013 include those of HPVP unit (erstwhile BHPV), BHEL said.
Voltas Ltd Q2 net down 1.51%
New delhi: Tata Group firm Voltas Ltd on Wednesday reported 1.51 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 42.28 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2013-14. The company had net profit of Rs 42.93 crore in the July-September quarter of the previous fiscal, 2012-13. Voltas’ net sales in Q2, 2013-14 declined by 7.20 per cent to Rs 1,076.53 crore from Rs 1,160.1 crore for the same period of last fiscal, Voltas said in a filing to the BSE. Expenses during the quarter stood at Rs 1,043.24 crore,
