The Delhi Police is looking for the source of "morphed pictures" of Samajwadi Party MP and former actor Jaya Prada after she complained the photographs had been put up on a website and the link posted on her Facebook account.

Sources said Jaya Prada, along with Rajya Sabha member Amar Singh, approached the Economic Offences Wing Monday and complained about the pictures.

“She claimed that her account had been hacked and her photos uploaded,” an officer said.

Subsequently, the Facebook profile had been viewed by many visitors and obscene messages posted.

This is clear cut the case of violation of Right to privacy. No one has right to infringe the fundamental right of others. Privacy is a fundamental human right recognized in the UN Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and in many other international and regional treaties. Privacy underpins human dignity and other key values such as freedom of association and freedom of speech. It has become one of the most important human rights issues of the modern age. The publication of this report reflects the growing importance, diversity and complexity of this fundamental right and its violation must be curbed. Here all the offenders must be booked.
