Himachal based PM Powerpack Solutions Private Limited today entered the portable mobile charger segment by launching what it claims to be “country’s first and the only portable charger”.

The company has already invested about Rs. 10 crore in the project and plans to invest another Rs. 8-10 crore over the next three years. The Recharge and an on–the–go portable charger can charge both smartphones as well as normal mobile handsets. It is priced at Rs. 1499.

The company plans to launch three more mini and luxury design products - Single USB portable charger, USB portable charger and dual USB portable charger designed for smart phones, tablets and other mobile devices in next couple of months. Keeping in view the increase in demand, the manufacturing unit of PM Powerpack, set up in Parwanoo, would have a capacity to produce 20 million mobile phone batteries and two million portable mobile chargers per annum.

Pankaj Sachdeva, Director, PM Powerpack Solutions says, During our soft launch of Recharge plus, the company which is growing at over 25 per cent per annum has already sold 40,000 portable mobile chargers and hopes to sell around 20,00,00 in the coming year through which the company aims to grab a market share of 10 per cent and take it up to 25–30 per cent in the next three years.”

Sachdeva claimed that PM Powerpack portable mobile chargers are the only ones to be manufactured in India, giving the company an edge over the competitors.

He said that with the rise in number of smart phone users every year, PM Powerpack with its range of products hopes to bridge the gap between the ever-increasing need for battery life in mobile devices and the limited capacity of batteries available on portable devices.

Sachdeva said that the company has firmed up plans to export this ultra slim and lightweight portable charger to European markets in near future.
