Hyderabad: : The Rs 200-crore Plethico Pharmaceuticals Ltd has set a target of 10 per cent market share of the estimated Rs 500-crore health drinks segment in the next two years.
Addressing the press conference here on Thursday to announce the launch of Coach’s Formula, its protein supplement, Plethico Pharma general manager (sales and marketing) Milind Datar said the company would achieve the target with the introduction of more international brands in the healthcare segment in the near future.
Coach’s Formula has been made an official drink for the 32nd National Games, being held in Hyderabad from Friday.
The company would be launching products in the categories of OTC, general health, confectionery and fitness supplement to tap the growing demand for protein products in the country.
International brand Coach’s Formula is a protein supplement and developed with inputs from a team of international fitness instructors, nutritionists and fitness experts from different fields of sport, Mr Datar said.
The technology for the product, which is being manufactured at its plant in Mumbai, comes from a US-based company called Dolster Pharm-
aceutical LLC. The protein content in the product comes from ‘whey‘—a milk derivative, The product is natural, 100 per cent vegetarian and enriched with 24 vitamins and minerals.
