Plea seeks action against CM
On Wednesday night, Mamata lost her cool and lashed out at her security head K K Dwivedi outside the fair venue. She was heard saying, “Apnader dhore chabkano uchit” (you should be whipped)”.
Dhiraj Sengupta, general secretary of the APDR, said: “The position in which the security officer is in, there is no provision for him to complain against ill-treatments like these. Besides, the gap in rank is so much that he would never dare to file a defamation complaint against the CM. So, we have written to Human Rights Commission to take suo motu action against the CM.”
He added the CM talks about being compassionate, but the way she reacted last night didn’t match with what she preaches. “We have cited recent examples where in a policemen who committed suicide spoke about being humiliated by his superiors. If this trend is not checked, it will destroy the morale of the police officers, especially those at low rank,” he said.
