Pistachio prices rose by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today largely on the back of fresh buying by retailers and stockists due to marriage season demand.

Fall in supplies from overseas markets also supported the rise in the prices.

Pistachio hairati and peshwari rose by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 810-910 and Rs 990-1,060 per kg, respectively.

Marketmen said fresh buying by retailers and stockists to meet marriage season demand against fall in supplies from overseas markets, mainly pushed up pistachio prices in the dry fruit market here.

The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg): Almond (California) Rs 14,900 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 7,300-8,000; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 3,500-4,200; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-20,000.

Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 500-550 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 400-450 per kg.
