Pistachio prices rose by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today, largely on the back of fresh buying by retailers and stockists, due to marriage and seasonal demand.
Fall in supplies from overseas markets also supported the rise in the prices.
Pistachio hairati and peshwari rose by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 810-910 and Rs 990-1,060 per kg, respectively.
Market analysts said fresh buying by retailers and stockists to meet seasonal demand against fall in supplies from overseas markets, mainly pushed up pistachio prices in the dry fruit market here.
The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg): Almond (California) Rs 15,200 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 7,300-8,000; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 3,500-4,200; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-20,000.
