Piaggio plans Vespa’s third entry into India soon

While the new Vespa scooters will be redesigned for India and fitted with four-stroke engines, the smaller engine capacity Aprilia will have more fuel-efficient engines.

Currently, Piaggio makes the Ape brand of three-wheelers at Baramati, Maharashtra. It will launch light commercial vehicles shortly. The upcoming four-wheeler Quargo is based on the commercial Piaggio Porter minivan. Piaggio sold over 1 lakh Vespa scooters in 2006....
