PGI to hold opthalmology conference

The Department of Ophthalmology, Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32 is organising the 26th Annual Conference of North Zone Ophthalmological Society NZOS EYECON 2012, from November 2-4 at the hospital premises.

According to the organising secretaries, Dr Suresh Kumar and Dr R K Bansal, approximately 500-600 delegates from north India are likely to participate in this conference. Madan Mohan Mittal, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Punjab, will be inaugurating the conference.

The main highlights of the conference are a live surgery session in which renowned surgeons such as Dr Amar Aggarwal, Dr Mahipal Sachdev, Dr Jagat Ram, Dr Keiki Mehta and others will share their surgical skills with the delegates and a symposium on Paediatric Ophthalmology. This symposium will focus on disorders leading to childhood blindness.

At the symposium, the Dr A D Grover Memorial Oration will be delivered by Dr P N Nagpal, who is an internationally renowned retina specialist.
