PGI MD/MS scam: Court rejects bail plea of accused
The application was dismissed by the special CBI court stating that if the accused would have been successful in the scam, many undeserving students would have taken admission in the institute.
The counsel for the accused said, “The special judge had questioned the CBI officials on why the real beneficiaries were not arrested in the case. The CBI officials representing the case did not have an answer to the same. But the bail was dismissed keeping in mind the gravity of offence”.
The accused had earlier moved a bail application in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) which was rejected. Jagdeesh was arrested from one of the hotels who was alleged to be a help for the kingpin Gurivi Reddy who had attempted to leak the question paper of the MD/MS examination of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) held on November 10.

along with seven other persons from three hotels and seven dummy candidates from four centers where the examination was being conducted.
