The campus was abuzz with security checks and police rehearsals. “The police security arrangements and rehearsals were on for the whole day to ensure there are no loopholes. The rehearsals will continue on Friday as well. We are ensuring that nothing untoward happens,” said Police Commissioner Ishwar Singh.
Helicopter trials too went on for the whole day.
Asked about the number of police personnel on duty for the PM visit, Singh said ‘’it is a complete secret with the intelligence and police team’’.
However, teams of one ASI and four constables each have been deployed at all the gates of the varsity.
According to sources, the PM will not have lunch at Sutton House, where President Pranab Mukherjee had. “No arrangements for the lunch are in place till now. Maybe it is being kept a secret but we have not been informed about the menu and other details till now,” said one of the staff members of Sutton House, the university guesthouse for VIPs and VVIPs.
