Only CMAT for MBA admissions, says DTE
“The aim is to create awareness among students and clear any doubts that they may have,” a DTE official said.
This comes a few days after AICTE issued a public notice last week which said that technical institutes offering PGDM, PGDM (executive) and PGCM have issued advertisements for admitting students in various programmes other than the common entrance exams approved by the Supreme Court, which includes CMAT, CAT, MAT, ATMA and JMET.
The AICTE notice had warned that students admitted through any other admission test will be declared ineligible, and the diploma offered to the student would be considered “null and void”.
The DTE circular says that it will not conduct any common entrance test for admission to MBA courses, and asks students to register and apply for CMAT. “...The Directorate has already notified that admission to all AICTE approved management courses will be carried through CMAT merit list from 2013-14,” says the circular.
