On 28th birthday, Surat MLA gifts his young voters a job fair

Harsh Sanghavi, the newly elected and youngest BJP MLA from Majura celebrated his 28th birthday in a novel way by organising the job fair for unemployed youths of Surat on Wednesday. Over 35 different national and international companies participated in the job fair event called Terapanth Bhavan and over 2,000 candidates appeared for the interviews.

Sanghavi, a diamond businessmen by profession, had got elected from Majura seat on BJP ticket defeating Congress candidate Dhanpat Jain in recent Assembly elections.

He contacted friends in multinational companies in various sectors like telecom, insurance, banking, retail, garments, bakery firms and stock and invited them to participate in the job fair.

He had also published advertisements in the news papers about the job fairs in Terapanth Hall on City Light Road in Surat.

The representatives of different companies were present in the event. Over 2,000 youths from Surat attended the job fair and submitted their biodatas to the companies. The procedures for shortlisting the candidates are still going on.

“I am happy to celebrate my birthday with this event. I have won the election with the support of strong youth force who stood beside me,” the MLA said, adding, “At present it is difficult for me to give actual figures of the jobs allotted, as the company officials are shortlisting the candidates and after few days we would come to know about the recruitment.”
