Nursery admission begins today
Nursery admissions in city schools for the 2011-12 session are all set to begin on Saturday, and parents across the Capital are bracing themselves for the ordeal. Quite a few of the institutions, however, will start the registration process only by January 3.
Vinay Sharma, a Kalkaji resident whose three-year-old son goes to a playschool in the neighbourhood, said, “I am ringing in the new year by going to a few schools that have begun selling forms. I will also visit school websites and download online forms.”
After all the hullabaloo over nursery admissions this year, schools and parents are finally ready to set the ball rolling. “It is already too late. Last year, the registration of forms started on December 15,” said Neha Rajan, the manager of an IT firm.
Schools such as Sanskriti School; St Thomas School, Dwarka; DPS, Mathura Road; DPS, Dwarka; Don Bosco, Alaknanda (for KG); Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar and The Indian School, Sadiq
Nagar, will start the registration process on Saturday. Other institutions such as Springdales School, Pusa Road; Ahlcon Public School, Mayur Vihar, and Mount St Mary’s School, Delhi Cantonment, will begin the process on January 3.
However, as parents have only 15 days or less to register in schools and submit the forms, parents are getting jittery. “Last year, the registration and form submission process went on for a month. This year, there are only 15 days to complete the process,” said Nipun, another parent.
