Bhubaneswar, October 25:: Facing criticism from the nun allegedly raped during the Kandhamal violence about lack of faith in a Orissa police probe, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said the victim can choose a venue to carry out the vital test identification parade anywhere in the country.

A day after the 29-year-old nun accused the Orissa police of being ‘friendly’ with the attackers, Patnaik said that he has asked the Crime Branch to adopt a ‘prompt’ and ‘professional’ approach in the nun rape case.

"We understand the terrible trauma the nun has undergone. Crime branch is probing into the savage incident," Patnaik said, asking officials to deal with the case in a humane approach.

Official sources said the state government would ‘wait’ for the nun to come forward assuring she could get instant justice if she cooperated with the investigation without further delay.

Home Secretary T K Mishra said the victim could get justice soon as the Crime Branch of Orissa police had already made a ‘good progress’ in the case.

"Now she has to come and identify the accused who have been arrested by police", he said, adding as many as nine persons had been put behind bars after their involvement in the mob attack on the nun was confirmed.

However, the police would confirm the ‘rapist’ only after identification by the nun, who was allegedly raped exactly two months ago on August 25.

Reiterating the state government's appeal to the nun, Mishra said that the case would be referred to the fast track court for quick justice.

Though three days had already passed since the apex court suggested the nun to assist probe, there was no sign of her cooperating with the investigation.

"Provisions under CRPC and IPC could be applied in the nun case," Mishra said while replying to a question on the victim's attitude of staying away from the investigation.

Senior officials noted that the nun preferred to go public at a press meet to reiterate her demand for a CBI probe into the incident even after what they said appreciation by the Supreme Court for he job done by Orissa poLice.

I can understand the rape victim-nun's situation. When she was raped in front of the police while they were remaining mute and motionless, now the same police are offering all help. Will the help be real or only a drama too fool the victim further? Indian police do that often. Most Indians have lost credibility in the police force! God save us!

She is brave nun of Joosus Holly Sprit Gott and most importantly Birgin Marry. After Gott blesses great women like her they can always remain Birgin. By this secloolar miracle of Joosus Kriste how can untrustworthy Orissa police do any proper investigation. Only Gott Joosus and Holly Sprit and their appointe Priests and Churches are proper authority to investigate pious nuns who have been raped but blest by Joosus to become Birgin mothers.

Orissa and its govt especially the CM should be prosecuted by CBI or the Hague just like the Nazis. These fanatics have no place in secular India and the police in most states in India are so very corrupt. I wonder how Indians would feel if a Hindu priest or Nun were raped and spat at in the US or a temple in the US desecrated and burned to the groundThe Indian judicial system itself needs to be cleaned out. I see some hope for the future through a media that can bring things out in the open with no bias

The nun and others must have enoyed the pleasure and found it an opportunity to throw the blame on hindu activists. The investiagators should also perform DNA test now and also when she becomes pregnant. Whoever the culprit is should be given capital punishment.

It is a real for me as a Hindu that the Hindu terroists wanted to repeat sita and draupati through their action. I don't know whether this is an authentic hindu spirituality. I don't subscribe to this type of spirituality. shame on my religion

First they rape her, and then start providing facilities like identification parade. What a way to avoid punishment.

This entire episode is a conspiracy of the Missionaries. The Orissa police have arrested some suspecs and asked the victim to identify, which the victim refuses. The Orissa missionaries have put up a petition in Supreme Court asking the transfer of the CBI, which the Apex Court promptly denied and asked the victim to cooperate with the Police. Now having failed to goad the Indian legal system to comply with their crooked strategies, the Missionaries have now taken the deviant and mischevous path - of misleading the victim and asking her to sling mud on the police! The police have not been behaving well with the victim, why was this not mentioned to the Supreme Court?! Vatican things everyone in India are fools?? No way, there is no way the Indian legal system should allow Vatican to subvert the process.
