Noida road extension: Elevated road between Anand Junj, Meera Bagh in West Delhi soon
Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today laid the foundation of the 3.3 km-long elevated road.
The construction of the elevated road is part of the Rs 2,200 crore project under which a 17km-long stretch from Vikaspuri in West Delhi to Wazirabad in North Delhi on the Outer Ring road will be made signal-free.
In the first phase of the project, government will spend Rs 559.6 crore which includes construction of the 3.3km elevated road which will zip over five major intersections.
The elevated road, which will go through Manohar Nagar crossing, Keshopur crossing and Sabji Mandi T-Junction, is expected to reduce traffic congestion at Vikaspuri, Janakpuri, Jawalaheri, Paschim Vihar and Bhera Enclave.
"The Delhi Government is committed to provide a smooth transport system in the city. Major roads in the city are choking due to high intensity of traffic and we have been constantly trying to improve the network," Dikshit said.
In her address, Dikshit said the traffic situation in Delhi has eased substantially after construction of around 75 flyovers in the last 13 years.
