Chennai: After months of delay, French tyre major Michelin has got approval from the Tamil Nadu government to set up a manufacturing unit near Chennai with an estimated investment of Rs 4,000 crore initially. The Cabinet in a recent meeting approved the Michelin's proposal and the government is in the final stage of acquiring land for the project. Work on the project will start soon and the plant is expected to start functioning in two years, said government sources.
