No dharna over CAS promotions: PUTA
Earlier, giving a deadline of October 31, PUTA had warned the authorities that if the present slow pace of promotions continue and the cases under promotions are not considered at the earliest, they would sit on a dharna on November 1 outside the office of the V-C. The issue was also raised by PUTA president, Akshaya Kumar, during the Senate meeting, recently.
On the Academic Performance Indicator (API), the Association decided that the decision will be taken after receiving feedback from all teachers. The PUTA Executive has framed a draft of the score card on points where University Grants Commission (UGC) is silent. These suggestions have been circulated among faculty members who are requested to give their feedback within three days.
Kumar said, “After going through the suggestions, the decision on API will be taken within three days which will be communicated to the authorities. As there is ambiguity over certain areas where UGC remains silent including rating of teachers’ work as a research guide, published papers, members of an advisory board or a reviewer of a journal and contribution in a project.” As per the draft framed by PUTA Executive, equal points are suggested for all
