Japanese auto major Nissan on Tuesday launched its multi-utility vehicle Evalia priced between Rs 8.49 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh (ex- showroom Delhi). The company expects to sell about 2,000 to 2,500 units a month of the Evalia, which will compete with the likes of Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and to an extent with Maruti Suzuki’s Ertiga. Nissan also said that it will launch 10 new models, including the Datsun brand, in India by 2016. The company, which will be introducing 51 new models by 2015-16 globally, said it will look to expand production capacity in India, either through new plants or the existing plant at Chennai. The automaker also said it has decided not to continue its partnership with Bajaj for sourcing of ultra-low cost car.
