A month-long programme will be organised by Chandigarh Senior Citizen Association to mark the International Senior Citizen Day, celebrated on October 1. This is the 12th year when the association will be organising a number of events in the Tricity. The programme will aim at drawing attention towards the specific concerns of the elderly and to get them out of their cloistered existence. The programme will also aim to make senior citizens feel that they are still an important segment of the society.
The programme in September will start with felicitation function-cum-entertainment events for the personnel and families of the Chandigarh Police. It will be held at Tagore theater on September 1.
