New Delhi, November 17:: Nazara Technologies Pvt Ltd, a mobile content developer based in Mumbai, has signed an exclusive deal with famous Bollywood actress Sameera Reddy to develop a wide range of mobile phone content based on her.
The product line up will include Exclusive imagery (Wallpapers & screensavers), games, Meet & Greet contests, Ringtones in Sameera’s voice, Videos and more.
Meet and Greet contests, win a date contest and games will be offered across multiple access channels like voice, SMS and WAP.
Nazara gets an exclusive license to develop mobile content on Ms. Reddy, using her likeness and name, and distribute it all over the country. The company will distribute the content to mobile operators who, in turn, will market it. The long list of its partners in India includes names such as Airtel, Spice, Idea, Vodafone, BPL, Tata Indicom, Reliance India Mobile and Cellebrum.
According to Nitish Mittersain, CEO of Nazara, “We are very excited about both the opportunity presented by the mobile content industry in India and its expected growth over the next few years. There are nearly 30-crore, mobile-phone users in the country, out of which 91.6 lakh mobile phone users were added during the month of August alone. We expect strong demand from mobile operators and look forward to bringing fun products based on Sameera to millions of mobile phone users in the coming months”.
“The arrival of 3-G will add to the growth impetus by making it possible to develop and sell high-end VASs”, he added.
Nazara, in which VC firm Sequoia Capital has invested, exclusively licenses many well-known brands such as world famous numerologist Sanjay B Jummani, Sachin Tendulkar, Sehwag, M S Dhoni, Archie Comics, GM Viswanathan Anand and Stardust gossips-Images among others, and develops mobile content based on these brands in keeping with their iconic image.
