National Housing Bank profit jumps 40 pc to Rs 234 cr in Jul-Dec

National Housing Bank (NHB) today posted 40 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 234 crore for the first half ended December 2012.
The bank had earned a net profit of Rs 167 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
Total income during the period increased by 28 per cent to Rs 1,436 crore against Rs 1,122 crore in same period a year ago.
The outstanding loans increased by 29 per cent to Rs 33,083 crore while outstanding borrowings increased by 22 per cent to Rs 30,711 crore.
Capital adequacy ratio of the bank stood at 16.83 per cent at the end of December, 2012.
NHB follows July-June fiscal year.
