Mumbai underground: Winter freeze
Art of crime
A Mumbai-based artist Vaibhav Raj Shah has created an artwork based on 26/11 terrorist Ajmal Kasab, which was recently showcased at the Museum of Memories.
This was a one-day exhibition held at the Godrej Vikhroli campus.
The black and white video installation shows a Kasab look-a-like yawning perpetually while looking at the camera and is played on loop.
“The act on screen itself is contagious and makes the viewer yawn too. I’m reflecting society’s complacency via him,” the 29-year-old artist said.
Radiation worry
With Juhi Chawla spearheading the anti-cell phone tower camp in the city, the jitter waves have spread across Bollywood.
On Tuesday, a worried Farhan Akhtar called up activists as a tower was being put up near his mother Honey Irani’s home in Bandra.
He called up close associates of Chawla who rushed to his rescue. However, radiation levels were found to be within permissible limits and the installation went ahead quite smoothly.
