Beauty company VLCC Health Care today said Bollywood actor and social activist Shabana Azmi, has joined the company's board as an independent director. Azmi would be the fourth independent director in the eight-member VLCC board, VLCC Health Care Ltd said in a statement.
"We, at VLCC, are very grateful to her for agreeing to join the VLCC Board and provide us the benefit of her guidance as we strive towards becoming a more socially inclusive organisation globally," VLCC Group Chairman Mukesh Luthra said. VLCC, is one of the largest chain of slimming, beauty and fitness centres across Asia and also runs Asia's largest chain of vocational education academies in beauty and nutrition, the company said.
Besides, the company manufactures and retails a comprehensive range of skin care, hair care and body care products through over 80,000 retail outlets. With nearly 6,000 employees, the company is present across 16 countries, including India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Singapore, Malaysia, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
