With gadgets like smartphones coming with barcode scanners and the checking facility also available at shopping centers, the central government’s Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute (MSMEDI) is seeking to ensure that apart from the pharma industry, all other products use barcodes to check the sale of fake products in the market.
Assistant Director of MSMEDI, Sanjay Nigam, said that the industrial units in the micro, small and medium enterprises sector are being sensitized on the use of barcodes which identify not only the company but the product stock as well.
