New Delhi, May 28: : If Adrian Sutil was inconsolable after Kimi Raikkonen ruined his fairytale Monaco Grand Prix, team owner Vijay Mallya was hardly any better and the liquor baron admitted he had tears in his eyes after the race.

Sutil was seven minutes and three laps away from a stunning fourth place finish when Raikkonen's Ferrari barged into his VJM01 to wreck his race.

While Sutil was in tears in the pit, Mallya admitted his eyes were moist as well. "We were obviously shattered. We were so looking forward to a spectacular result, which was not to be," Mallya said.

Asked if the setback left him in tears, Sutil said, "I was, and so were many of us actually, I've had quite a lot of SMS messages and phone calls from supporters in India, all of whom are I think highly emotional. It was sad for us, that moment was a very emotional moment," he said.
