Mohali ‘record’ builder aims higher, promises house in just 20 hours
Singh said so at the foundation day function of Punjab Technical University (PTU) in Jalandhar. He was one of the guests of honour at the event.
“This house, which would be built in 20 hours, will be earthquake resistant and had been approved as a seismic zone 5 house. It will not in any way be different from concrete houses, not even the cost. Moreover, this will be an insulated house — the inhabitants will not feel hot as well as cold in summers and winters respectively,” said Singh.
“This concept can solve the housing problem in the country, where it takes three to four years to complete a proper building,” he added.
On the occasion, Yashjeet Gupta — who played in major role in constructing a building in 48 hours — received the “Alumni of the Year” award. The prize for the Best Student of the University went to Jasleen Kaur, a MCA student of DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology.
