Asked whether the reopening of Bhagalpur riot cases and his government's 10-point welfare programme for Muslims had enabled him to wean away a sizeable section of Muslims from RJD, he said, "I am more concerned about justice, if it get votes in the process it is well and good."
Asked whether the UPA government was doing enough for Bihar's development, Kumar said "their sincerity in economic progress of the state will be tested if they approve our Rs 17,000 crore proposal for inter-linking of rivers.
"This would help us to tackle recurrent problems of floods and drought and reconstruction of infrastructure damaged in this year's deluge," he added.
Asked whether the West Bengal government should be dismissed because of the violence in Nandigram, Kumar replied in the negative.
"Dismissing a state government for an incident of violence is not that easy, particularly after the Supreme Court verdict in the S R Bommai case. Moreover, UPA government, dependent for survival on the Left, could not have in any case taken the extreme step"....
