Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 12.60 to Rs 1,403 per kg in futures trade today as investors engaged in creating positions on account of good demand from consuming industries and lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.

Sentiment improved further largely on the back of increased domestic as well as exports demand in the midst of reports of lower output this season, marketmen said.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December rose by Rs 12.60, or 0.90 per cent, to Rs 1,403 per kg, clocking a business volume of 751 lots.

The oil for January contract traded higher by Rs 12.10, or 0.85 per cent, to Rs 1,419.30 per kg, with a trading volume of 493 lots.
