Mentha oil futures rises on strong demand, low arrivals

Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 17.10 to Rs 1,151 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in creating positions.

Sentiment improved on the back of increased domestic as well as exports demand and reports of lower production this season due to late rains.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for December gained 10.80, or 0.90 per cent, to Rs 1,201.40 per kg, with a trading volume of 102 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in November edged up by Rs 10.10, or 0.85 per cent, to Rs 1,186.90 per kg in 413 lots.
