Agencies: New Delhi, Dec 04 2012, 14:07 IST
Mentha oil futures prices rose by Rs 7 to Rs 1,406.70 per kg today, as traders enlarged their holdings, tracking rising demand in the physical markets.
Restricted supplies from the growing belts of Chandausi, in Uttar Pradesh, also supported the prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January rose by Rs 7, or 0.50 per cent, to Rs 1,406.70 per kg, clocking a business volume of 194 lots.
The oil for the December contract rose by Rs 5.80, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 1,395.80 per kg, with a trading volume of 938 lots.
Analysts said the rise in mentha oil at futures trade was mostly supported by rising demand at spot markets amid restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
