Maps of 895 unauthorised colonies reach corporations, regularisation yet to cross a few hurdles
The government had sent a list of 917 unauthorised colonies to the L-G’s office for being notified as regularised. However, the L-G’s office approved only 895 colonies, of which around 300 are on private land. To complete the process , the corporation officials have planned a meeting with L-G Tejendra Khanna and Delhi government officials.
The Town Planning department will also start sending letters to Residents’ Welfare Associations (RWAs) to submit layout plans, which they have prepared.
The officials at the three corporations have started scrutiny of the maps which have been sent to them.
“We received maps of colonies with the boundaries marked out. But they do not have the plot area on it. They only contain built-up area. We make layout plans on the basis of plots. Now, we have to superimpose the built-up area onto the maps of plots,” a senior official of the South Municipal Corporation said.
Finalising the layout plans is not a simple task. The layout plans of the RWAs and the maps on which the boundaries have been marked out, have to agree with each other, said sources.
