Mammen Mathew chosen for journalism award

A prestigious journalism award, instituted by a trust founded by Lokamanya Tilak, will be conferred on Mammen Mathew, Chief Editor and Managing Director of Malayala Manorama.

Lokmanya Tilak National Award for Excellence in Journalism, instituted by the Kesari-Mahratta Trust, includes a Rs 1 lakh cash reward and a memento. The award will be given as part of the 133rd foundation day celebrations of the trust at Tilakwada Pune on January 4.

Deepak Tilak, Trustee-Editor of Kesari, said Mathew has been selected for his exemplary work in the field of journalism. He has 44 years of experience and has worked with reputed publications in India and abroad, Tilak said. He was the president of the Editors Guild of India and The Indian Newspaper Society.
