Malls go full throttle in merry mood
The usual strategy of malls is to create a happy ambience to make sure that customers visit again and again. And with Diwali coming up, the malls are putting in extra effort to bring on the festive cheer.
Apart from decorating with lights and colourful drapes, the malls are organising various events to enhance the shopping experience. Inorbit Mall on Nagar Road bears a festive look with traditional décor crafted with lustrous danglers, sparkling gold and red sequins, mirrors, crystals and more. Diyas, Stambh pillars, lanterns and rangolis form the theme of the decoration.
As part of the ‘Street Fest’, organised by Pheonix Marketcity, Nagar Road, from November 7-11, visitors at the mall can walk through an artificial fire cracker zone, get a free tattoo or caricature made and also be entertained by stilt walkers, balloon twisters, unicyclist and mall mascots. The festivities also include interactive games like triple strike and mythology based fancy dress competition, where shoppers can pick out a costume from a costume box and get an instant snap clicked at the venue. Workshops on diya making, rangoli designing, lantern making and live programs in the evenings will also be organised. “Diwali is all about celebrations, lights and shopping. We have tried to make the festival shopping interactive and engaging for our customers. Apart from the activities we are also running a competition where customers can win exciting prizes,” said Rajiv Malla, Centre Director, Phoenix Marketcity, Pune.
