Financial services firm Macquarie Bank on Thursday offloaded 5.63 lakh shares of the branded jewellery company Gitanjali Gems in a transaction worth Rs 4.56 crore.
As per the bulk deal details with the stock exchanges, Macquarie Bank sold 5,63,016 shares of Gitanjali Gems through open market transactions.
The shares were sold at an average price of Rs 81.02 apiece, amounting the transaction at Rs 4.56 crore.
As of quarter ended June, Macquarie Bank held little over 36 lakh shares in Gitanjali Gems, representing 3.92 per cent shareholding in the company.
In a separate block deal on the exchanges, Bright Star Investments acquired 25 lakh shares of TV18 Broadcast for an amount of Rs 4.25 crore.
The shares of the media firms were purchased from Damani Estate and Finance for an average price of Rs 17 apiece.
On the BSE, shares of Gitanjali Gems plunged 4.94 per cent to end the day at Rs 76.90 apiece, while TV 18 gained 3.23 per cent to close at Rs 17.60 per share.
