Vadodara: Losing too many wickets in the batting powerplay cost India the ODI series opener against Australia, home team skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni lamented.

At 167 for three, India looked well in pursuit of their 293-run victory target before they lost four quick wickets to slump to 201 for seven and Dhoni reckoned the match slipped out of hand at that stage.

"We lost too many wickets during the powerplay which was the turning point. We lost Gautam Gambhir, (Suresh) Raina, myself and Ravindra Jadeja. Full credit to Harbhajan Singh and Praveen Kumar for bringing us so close to the target," said Dhoni after the hosts' narrow four-run loss.

Harbhajan and Praveen used the long handle to good effect to put on a breezy 84-run eighth-wicket stand to bring India agonisingly close to the target.

Dhoni's time is over(lucky days) and shuffiling the places is also not good. He should come after viru, sachin, gambir, raina and yuvraj. we can see his last so many innings ware failure.he is doing like that, against good team he came lower order and against bad team in top order and scored good run.like this he maintenan good average.this is not fair for a captain

I feel India has lost this match due to slow and defensive mind set by Sachin and Dhoni. Dhoni clearly has lost his aggressive batting style and doesn't have good technical strength. I don't remember when he scored his last 100 or 50 and won a match for the country. We cant blame Viru as he always bats like that. he always lives dangerously.Bowlers who are supposed to take wickets, failed and to compensate they swung their bats to save their position in team. still hats off to Harbhajan and Kumar for their heroics. Without their effort we would lost heavily.

Why should we persist with Tendulkar or Sewag when we have young talent waiting to emerge. What contribution these two have made yesterday? So why not provide an opportunity to young cricketer like Manish Pandey. He appears more consistent and talented at the present time.

Dhoni, list out 20 reasons for loss and every time you lose just assign that number as reason for loss.

Stereo type captainship led to defeat of India. Harbhajan Singh should have sent ahead of Jadeja and Raina as pinch hitter. Raina has failed every time on such occasion. Dhoni's confidence on some of his players is misplaced and he underestimates talent of others who deserve a chance.

Dhoni's era of luck is over, continous defeats once reveals that cricketers to are over paid and as players are not bothered to play good cricket

Good captains say that we have to play better and have not put in 100% of efforts to WIN. No explation matters.
