Lord Mahavira Homeopathy college and hospital yet to get land registered
Lord Mahavira Homeopathy college and hospital located on Haibowal chowk is yet to get the registry of land done from Ludhiana improvement trust (LIT) though the land was allotted in 1976. However, the issue of enhancement fee has not yet been sorted out which has delayed the land registry of the college.Information through RTI, sought by one Balbir Aggarwal a resident of Miller Ganj, revealed that college was allotted four acres in July 1976 at Rs 25 per square yard while later this price was revised to a token money of Rs 10 per square yard. The institute was hence to deposit Rs 1.93 lakh for land and later additional amount of Rs 10,660 for an extra 1,066 square yard.
The information also reveal that the college management failed to deposit enhancement fee to the LIT for which notice was also sent. Till March 2000 the institute had Rs 28. 18 lakh outstanding against the trust which included 20 percent penalty and 18 percent annual interest as well.
However information also revealed that later the college had put forward the case with the government for waiver of this interest as the institute is doing 'service to society' and the case has not yet been decided till date. The case is under discussion since 2001.
