The article “Wings of Namakkal” (FE, October 14) comes as a breath of fresh air in these gloomy times of slow growth. This news from a remote part of the country shows that nothing is impossible if one has vision and if one is prepared to put in enough and sensible hard work. Namakkal, situated about 375 km south-west of Chennai, falls in a semi-arid zone and the region is not suited for profitable cultivation. But it has turned itself into a “poultry city”. Indeed, India, at some places, is still shining.
We incorrectly carried that Sunil Mittal had applied for anticipatory bail in the editorial column “Govt in the dock, not India Inc” (FE, October 17). The error is regretted.
