Apropos of the Eavesdropper “The Holy Grain” (FE, October 11), we learnt that India’s food minister KV Thomas, after attending the FAO meet in Italy, presented to Pope Francis a booklet on India’s Food Security Act. The Pope congratulated India for taking steps to eradicate hunger. It is good that we have the Pope’s appreciation which seems to be the ultimate aim of the government but the main question is where is the hunger in India? What I mean is that will Thomas or anyone in the government identify the total number of people suffering from hunger? That's what needs to be done by the government.
