Sidhwan Kalan:Five persons were killed and another four have been admitted to DMCH with serious injuries after a major accident near Sidhwan village on the Ferozepur road on Saturday. The accident took place at 7 am as a speeding Punjab roadways bus collided with a Toyota Innova. Of the five deceased, four were of the same family. A motorcyclist, Robinpreet Singh, was also killed in the accident while the passengers of the bus escaped unhurt. The deceased include: Sandeep Kaur and her five-year-old daughter Surpreet Kaur, Manjit Kaur and Kulwant Singh, paternal grandparents of Surpreet.
SFJ flays Brar, Cong comments
Chandigarh:Challenging the claim that Sikhs living abroad are helping revive terrorism, Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), a human rights group, stated that community members living in western countries support “revival of justice, and not terrorism”. In a statement, the SFJ said that “demanding justice is no act of treason or waging war against India as depicted by an organised campaign initiated after the attack on Lt Gen (Retd) K S Brar in London.” Terming the attack on Brar as “emotional confrontation”, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, legal adviser to SFJ, said that the community is still suffering from the pain of desecration of Akal Takht.
