Private sector lender Kotak Mahindra Bank today reported 16 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 582.93 crore for the July-September quarter of 2013-14 fiscal.
It had posted net profit of Rs 502.17 crore, on consolidated basis, for the same period of 2012-13 fiscal.
However, the total income decreased to Rs 3,695.98 crore for the second quarter of the current fiscal from Rs 4,035.75 crore in the year-ago period, Kotak Mahindra Bank said in a filing to the BSE.
On standalone basis, the bank's Q2 net profit rose by 26 per cent to Rs 352.54 crore compared to Rs 280.38 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
The total income increased from Rs 2,469.46 crore as against Rs 2,174.50 crore recorded in the same period of the previous financial year.
During the first half of 2013-14, the bank on standalone basis clocked a 34 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 755.36 crore, compared to Rs 562.83 crore in the same period of 2012-13.
