New Delhi: The Library of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (The Oscar Library) has expressed an interest in acquiring a copy of the screenplay of ‘Kismet Konnection’ for its permanent core collection. The scripts in their collection are made accessible for research purposes only; students, filmmakers, writers and actors are among their regular patrons. Ramesh Taurani, owner of Tips Films, which produced the movie, is over the moon about it and says, “It’s always a pleasure to be recognised for your craft by one of the most respectable film bodies of our times.” A close friend of Shahid Kapur, who played the male lead in the movie, reports that with the Oscar library acquiring the script of the film, Shahid, who already felt privileged to be part of the movie, now feels even more privileged. But we wonder why the library chose this movie? Perhaps it’s compiling a handbook on how not to make a movie.
