Khurshid says nod to cricket series with Pak not irreversible
“It is always possible to review any decision we take. This is not an irreversible or a permanent decision (the cricket bodies) would have taken,” Khurshid said, briefing reporters after the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation ministerial meeting in Gurgaon. Khurshid, while saying that he liked watching cricket, struck a tough note on the 26/11 attack.
“We are certainly concerned about issues that relate to accountability for a very unwholesome attack on our citizens and we expect all countries, including our neighbouring country Pakistan, to deliver on their frequently indicated, promised or for that matter, indication that they will make those people accountable. There is no question of dilution of our demands and expectations.”
However, he added, “My understanding of dealing with difficult situation with neighbours has been that we do put aside some issues on which there isn’t an immediate resolution, and we continue with those issues on which consensually it is possible to have improvement of relations.”
