Kheda teacher accused of caning students surrenders, gets bail
Zala, who taught at a government primary school at Sarkhehj village in Kathlal taluka of Kheda district, surrendered around 4 pm. He was booked under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 504 (intentional insult) of the Indian Penal Code.
Meanwhile, at a meeting, parents and residents of Sarkhej agreed to put the matter to rest after Zala reportedly agreed to seek a transfer from the school.
“Village sarpanch Dalpatsinh Rathod and parents have agreed to let the teacher work here in the best interest of students. Zala would seek a transfer during annual transfer camp next year,” said school principal Babu Dabhi.
The principal said he had reported the incident to the education inspector of Khatlal and that he would conduct an inquiry into the matter.
