Karachi traders’ delegation visits Surat

Seeing the great demand of Surat-made textile fabrics in Pakistan, a delegation of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry arrived in the city on Tuesday to hold discussion with textile merchants as well as Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI).

Experts in the textile industry says that there is good demand of dress materials of Surat city in Pakistan. Currently, the Surat textile fabrics enters into Pakistan from Dubai as well as from Afghanistan. There are many textile traders from Afghanistan who buy dress materials and curtain fabric from Surat and send it to Afghanistan and finally reach Pakistan.

The delegation include president of Karachi Chamber of Commerce Yunus Orrawala and secretary of the chamber Abdul Chamadia. Sources said the delegation would stay here for a couple of days and meet members of South Gujarat Textile Processors Association and Federation of Gujarat Weavers Association, Federation of Surat textile Traders Association and Surat Embroidery Association.
