Idea ‘Junior Championship League 2012’, an inter-school sports championship organised by Idea Cellular, ended on Friday. The championship aimed at identifying and recognising the best sporting talent from across 180 schools in Punjab. The Ludhiana zonal finals, held at Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana, saw students from 30 schools compete in seven sports categories: long jump, shot put, javelin throw, volleyball, hockey and judo. Shri Guru Ram Rai Public School was declared the winner of this edition of Idea Junior Championship League and won a prize worth Rs 20,000, said Anish Roy, chief operating officer, Punjab, J&K and Himachal Pradesh, IDEA Cellular.
