Jhunjhunwala buys into A2Z Maintenance

Billionaire investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and his wife, Rekha, today bought 26.5 lakh shares of A2Z Maintenance and Engineering Services worth over Rs 26 crore through open market transactions.

According to bulk data available with BSE, Jhunjhunwala purchased 5.7 lakh shares of of A2Z Maintenance and Engineering Services, while his wife acquired 6.5 lakh shares.

The shares were purchased for about Rs 100 apiece, valuing the transactions at Rs 12.2 crore.

In addition, the ace investor bought 14.3 lakh shares of A2Z Maintenance and Engineering Services on the NSE for Rs 100.03 apiece, translating to a deal worth Rs 14.3 crore.

As of March quarter, the two investors together held 1.41 crore shares or 19.11 per cent stake in the company.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 100.65 apiece on the BSE in today's trading session, down 0.20 per cent from the previous close.

Besides, Jhunjhunwala has recently increased stake in four entities -- Prime Focus, Aptech, Viceroy Hotels and IT Geometric -- through open market transactions during April-May.
