Jeera prices fell by Rs 190 to Rs 14,490 per quintal in futures trading today as traders offloaded positions, triggered by weak overseas demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in November fell by Rs 190, or 1.29 per cent, to Rs 14,490 per quintal, with an open interest of 366 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in December traded lower by Rs 102.50, or 0.68 per cent, to Rs 14,890 per quintal, with an open interest of 17,688 lots.

Marketmen said offloading of positions by speculators tracking weak overseas demand mainly led to a fall in jeera prices at futures market.
